Profound and beautiful! I share these opening sentiments and the "drift" of this grift. This is another "keeper" and one that I think I need to read every day with my devotional readings and my book on "compassion" for this week, it seems to fit nicely (I am also enjoying a 30 day plan on "El Camino de Santiago" helps me feel like I'm actually walking it from France across northern Spain). John recommended that we all "get away" so this is how I am. Anyways, whatever happened to "no man is an island - no man stands alone" I'm sure we're close enough in age to both recall this (there's a poem) but I'm referring to the song that starts that way because that's what came to me as I read your title.

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND; NO MAN STANDS ALONE

EACH MAN’S JOY IS JOY TO ME; EACH MAN’S GRIEF IS MY OWN.

WE NEED ONE ANOTHER; SO I WILL DEFEND

EACH MAN AS MY BROTHER, EACH MAN AS MY FRIEND.

I SAW THE PEOPLE GATHER, I HEARD THE PEOPLE SING,

THE SONG THAT THEY WERE SINGING IS RINGING IN MY HEART.

Keep singing and writing Dino Alonso because you are the lifeboat for many of us to find rescue! Thank you for your continual gift to us!

Yes Susan, a lifeboat! And that is what I hear you saying, Dino, that we must be a Lifeboat for others.

I had a dream once of being in a boat...a long canoe people paddling on both sides..but there was a problem: the boat was underwater and the people were under water to their shoulders (makes it pretty hard to row)...I would like to get out of that sinking boat and find a floating vessel and encourage all those on the sinking boat to jump ship and join me on top of the water. I am not sure what that boat is, but I am keeping my eyes open to see my chance to board and offer safety to others!

Dino, You are a life raft for me. I read everything you write and it fills me with hope and a reminder that I am not alone. Your words fill me with peace and are my meditation. I am not good with sitting in silence with a quiet mind. My mind is never quiet. I pass your homilies and your poetry. I have 47 plus years in Twelve Step groups. They saved my life. I am blessed to have a tribe of friends that meet, share pain, sorrow, hope and support. We laugh as often as we cry. I am not alone. We are all on your raft Dino. I share you with them and now they with you (forgive the terrible English). Thank you again for you-all of you. Keep them coming .
