Two items from this grab my attention. One, Democrats don't have to lose every election. In bright blue Maryland and my even brighter blue county, Democrats won't lose *any* election for the foreseeable future. And yet the very infighting you describe escalated long before the Trump era into a level of corruption that also has no end in sight. That's a much bigger problem locally than simply voting Republicans out of office. They've *already* been voted out of office. And where are we?
Second, and not unrelated, ideological purity. Good grief. I admit this is a hard one, because I'm a man of strong convictions. But people, come on! Former Governor Hogan, a Republican, spoke out forcefully against Project 2025 when running against our County Council Executive, Angela Alsobrooks. From Angela, and all across the country and the law firm I keep records in? Crickets.
I won't disclose directly who I voted for in the above Senatorial race, but maybe I don't need to. Last time I checked, we still had a secret ballot in this country.
One way to stop fascism is to end to ICE funding. We just have until the end of January to end their funding, and 41 Democratic senators would be enough to say no. There are 45 Dems in the Senate, and 2 independents who caucus with Dems, so we just need 41 out of 47. Without any Republican votes! Here's an explainer I wrote for Common Dreams https://www.commondreams.org/opinion/congress-stop-ice
Thank you again Dino. Your words and some others help me make sense of what is happening.
Yes it is, but necessary.

Big thumbs up as usual, Dino.
Thanks Wayne. Frankly, it’s a terribly difficult reality to come face to face with.
