Perfectly said. That silent commitment to integrity and proper treatment of others is reflected in the fact that virtually all religions contain instructions of what to do and what not to do that support that. And anthropologically speaking, as you pointed out, those supportive behaviors are the necessary underpinnings for humans to live together in social groups.

Interestingly enough, they also make those who follow them happier people for doing so. Those who only act selfishly are never satisfied.
