We are Likely too late

Let me break this down for anyone still trying to squint through the fog of headlines, spin, and “both sides” nonsense:

Last night, your government tried to disappear your future while you were sleeping.

This was not politics as usual. This was not a budget debate. This was a smash-and-grab job by the billionaire class—executed through the front door of the United States Senate.

Here’s what happened: Republicans, under Trump’s second-term blessing and Musk’s shadow, dragged us into a late-night session—on purpose—so the public wouldn’t notice. Why? Because the less you know, the easier it is to rob you blind.

They brought forward the blueprint for what I’m going to call The Corporate Coup Budget:

• Massive tax cuts for billionaires and corporations.

• Paid for by ripping the floor out from underneath working people—Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, everything you think your country owes you after a lifetime of work and taxes.

That’s not a metaphor. That’s their literal plan.

What Senator Chris Murphy and a handful of Democratic holdouts did was use every procedural move possible to slow it down. To expose it. To shine the light where darkness was the tactic.

Here’s what Republicans voted against:

• Preventing tax breaks for billionaires.

• Safeguarding access to IVF.

• Protecting your private data from tech oligarchs like Musk and his memecoin side hustle. They voted against all of it.

This wasn’t governance. This was a confession.

They don’t work for you. They work for the donor class. For the hedge fund vampires. For the offshore-account cowboys. For the deathless creatures in corner offices who think democracy is quaint and health care is theft.

And let’s stop pretending this is some isolated policy disagreement. This is the end stage of political rot. This is what it looks like when authoritarianism and economic cannibalism join forces. When fascism stops wearing jackboots and starts wearing cufflinks.

They are building a country where the only thing you own is the right to obey.

Do not wait for 2026. Do not wait for someone else to fix this. You are the cavalry.

What can you do?

• Flood every inbox and voicemail of your state and federal reps. Demand answers. Demand votes on record.

• Share this—not just online, but in actual conversation. This isn’t a meme. This is your actual life.

• Organize. With friends. With neighbors. With your damn book club. This machine runs on your silence. Break it.

Senator Murphy is right: We do not have the luxury of time. This is not politics. This is triage.

And for those still unsure if it’s really this bad, let me say it plainly:

They are looting the republic. In public. With no shame. And they’re betting you’ll be too busy, too tired, too cynical to stop them.

Prove them wrong. Stand up. Speak out. Sharpen your voice.

Because if we don’t, the only thing left to tax will be the ashes of a democracy we failed to defend
