A Small Update Before We Begin Again
Friends,
I hope these last few days have offered you some rest, or at least a few breaths of stillness in a year that has not exactly been generous with its stillness. I stepped back for a short break myself. A little quiet. A little thought. A little wandering around the corridors of my mind to see what had changed while I was not looking.
I will resume our normal publishing schedule this Wednesday, December 3rd. The long form work continues. The essays continue. The ongoing series continue. I am coming back to the page with the same energy and purpose that brought Light Against Empire into being in the first place.
New Section
There is one new development I want to share with you. I have created a new section called The Daily Light. Think of it as a small room off the main hall. More relaxed writing. More moment to moment reflections. A space for the thoughts that arrive uninvited but insist on being heard.
For existing subscribers, it is optional. I made that choice deliberately. Many of you came here for the longer essays, the deeper dives, the slow thinking. I did not want to suddenly turn your inbox into a daily visitor when you signed up expecting something more measured. If you want to read The Daily Light, you can always click on it through the top menu bar on the Substack “Lightagainstempire.com” site. It will be there whenever you want it.
For new subscribers, The Daily Light will be included by default. It seems reasonable to let people know what they are getting into from the very beginning. If they tire of hearing from me more often, I trust they know where the unsubscribe button lives, and I will not take it personally. Probably.
Purpose of Daily Light
As for the purpose of The Daily Light, it is simple. Sometimes there is more to say. Sometimes the world turns in a way that pulls at the sleeve. Sometimes a thought arrives that does not want to wait until the next major essay. And sometimes I just want to check in. There is value in the shorter, quieter work, the kind that asks only for a moment of attention before letting you get back to your day.
For now, consider this your early notice. Nothing changes for you unless you want it to. The long conversations continue. The deep analysis continues. The soul work continues. The Daily Light is simply turned on for whoever wants it.
Happy Sunday! I look forward to seeing you all this Wednesday.

Who would ever tire of hearing from you more often, dear Dino? Not this subscriber, that's for sure! I look forward to reading your new thought venture. You are the best!
Happy Sunday Dino. I look forward to reading everything. Enjoy your respite. Susan
