Dear friends,
I want to tell you about an important change I’m making here at Light Against Empire. Beginning this Sunday, September 14th, every post—past and future—will be open to all readers. No paywalls. No tiers. Just words, freely shared.
Why? Because I’ve realized that my writing only feels true when it’s for everyone. The point of this work—the satire, the homilies, the hard warnings, and the quiet encouragements—has never been to serve an elite few. It’s to serve the community, the whole of it, anyone who hungers for clarity, courage, or a steady reminder that their soul matters.
I won’t lie: this choice comes with a cost. Writing takes time, energy, and no small amount of faith. To keep going, I still need some measure of financial support. That’s why the option to donate monthly or yearly remains. If my words have steadied you, angered you in a good way, or given you something to carry through your own hard days, please consider helping me sustain them.
But here’s the heart of it: whether you give or not, you belong here. You’ll still receive my full schedule:
Wednesdays: Chronicles of Collapse (political satire) and Compass of Faith and Reason (spiritual/reflective essays)
Sundays: Light Against Empire (political/humanist dispatch)
My promise to you is unchanged: to write honestly, to speak fiercely, and to give this work away as widely as I can. Because a world like ours doesn’t need more gated doors. It needs open tables, lit lamps, and the stubborn act of keeping hope alive together.
If you are a paying subscriber now, I need you more than ever; however, if you are uncomfortable supporting an open newsletter, please feel free to cancel your subscription at any time.
Thank you—for reading, for sharing, for standing in this circle with me. Paid or free subscriber, you’ve kept me going. And now, I want us all to walk forward together.
With gratitude,
Dino
I love your generosity and the reasoning for making your words available to all. Your messages need to be read, digested and, if need be, adopted. Gifts are better shared, I think.
Thank you for doing this. It's a big help to me at this time in my life.
